A Large ‘Beetle (Cydianirus ornatus)’ Slipware Vase, executed 2019
The form of coil built red Staffordshire earthenware illustrated with beetles against orange and white spots on a black ground using slipware traditions of slip trailing, painting and sgraffito, and finished with a transparent gloss glaze to 1120°C oxidation firing.
34.4 cm high, signed and dated, and impressed ‘KS’
